Terms of sale & service

These terms apply when you buy a WiseTag smart NFC pet tag from us and when you use the WiseTag online profile service. Please read them before ordering — by placing an order you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

WiseTag is a trading name of [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name, e.g. WiseTap Ltd], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [PLACEHOLDER: Companies House company number], with its registered office at [PLACEHOLDER: registered office address, incl. postcode]. VAT number: [PLACEHOLDER: VAT number — or 'not VAT registered'].

You can contact us by email at [PLACEHOLDER: support/contact email address]. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address you gave us when ordering or when creating your account.

2. What you are buying

Your purchase has two parts:

  • The tag — a physical NFC pet ID tag carrying a unique code, posted to you.
  • The profile service — an online pet profile linked to your tag, which anyone who finds your pet can open by tapping the tag or entering its code.

You can pay in one of two ways:

  • One-time purchase — you pay once for the tag; there is no subscription and no recurring charge for the profile service.
  • Flex plan — you pay nothing for the tags upfront and instead pay a monthly subscription (the price shown at checkout, which depends on how many tags the plan covers). The plan includes the profile service and any advanced features we roll out to Flex members. You can cancel at any time with no fee — see Cancelling your Flex plan for how cancellation works and what happens to your tags and profile afterwards.

3. Ordering and when a contract is formed

Placing an order on our site (or via our partner shop) is an offer to buy. A contract between us is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. If we cannot accept your order — for example because the product is out of stock or there was a pricing error — we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

4. Price and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling on the buy page at the time you order and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at checkout by our payment processor (Stripe, or Shopify if you buy through our partner shop). We never see or store your card details.

5. Delivery

We deliver to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Estimated delivery time is [PLACEHOLDER: delivery estimate, e.g. 2–4 working days]from dispatch. Your tag activation code is emailed to you as soon as your payment is confirmed, so you can set up your pet's profile before the physical tag arrives. Delivery cost: [PLACEHOLDER: delivery cost, e.g. free UK delivery].

6. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the tag. You do not need to give a reason. Full details of how to cancel, how to return the tag and how refunds work are on our Returns & cancellation page.

7. If the tag is faulty

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the tag must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund — see the Returns & cancellation page or contact us at [PLACEHOLDER: support/contact email address].

8. Your account and profile

  • Your account is created when you activate a tag. Keep your password confidential — you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You control what appears on your pet's profile. The profile is public by design: anyone who taps the tag or enters its code can see it. Only include information you are happy to share with a stranger who finds your pet. See our Privacy policy.
  • You confirm that any content you upload (including photos) is yours to use and does not infringe anyone else's rights.

9. Acceptable use

The profile service is for identifying pets and reuniting them with their owners. You must not use it to publish content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading, or that identifies another person without their consent. We may suspend or remove a profile that breaks these rules; where reasonable we will contact you first.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep the profile service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access — the internet, phone networks and NFC readers are outside our control. The tag is an identification aid, not a tracking device, and it is not a substitute for microchipping, which is a legal requirement for dogs (and cats in England) in the UK.

11. Our liability

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss that is not foreseeable, for business losses, or — given the nature of the product — for the loss of, or injury to, a pet. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you ordered. For the ongoing profile service, we will give you reasonable notice of material changes by email or via your dashboard.

13. Complaints and governing law

If something has gone wrong, email us at [PLACEHOLDER: support/contact email address] and we will do our best to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales (or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts).
